Portrait Gallery

In the Gallery you can view portraits of around 200 individuals included in the Willis Tree. These are from my own archives and those of others who have kindly contributed family photos for inclusion. Each photograph includes the name of the person, as well as their years of birth and death. They are displayed in alphabetical order by surname.

Finding your way around the Gallery should be simple. It's built on software called Cool Iris - just by using your mouse you get the effect of 'flying through a three-dimensional space that feels like an unending hallway of images' (New York Times). You can move up and down the row of portraits, zoom in and out using your mouse wheel, and clicking on a photo will open it in a separate window of your browser.

You can use the search function (click on the 'magnifying glass' icon) to highlight photos which relate to certain words. So, for instance, search for a first name (eg Alfred) or a surname (eg Gilliland) and only those people will be highlighted.
