The aim of The Willis Tree website is to bring together research into the Willis family, with particular interest in the Benefield, Greenland, Gurnsey, Harvey, Hopper, Huggins, Kingsnorth and Willis families of Kent, and the Nicholls family from South Devon.

The information on the site is from many sources, including a number of relatives from around the world who have contributed research, images, and stories. It is hoped that the information here will help others discover their ancestral roots and rediscover their living relatives.

As well as the main Willis Tree website, there are other areas containing a wealth of information.

The Wiki contains articles on people and places in the Willis Tree site. Many of these articles have been pieced together using information from family records and other data contributed by Willis Tree cousins.

The Roll of Honour acts as a virtual memorial to those in the Willis Tree who gave their lives during the Great War and World War II. It includes details of their military service and how they lost their lives.

The Portrait Gallery - view portraits of more than 150 individuals in the Willis Tree in a 'virtual 3D gallery'.

The Your Help Required section. If you can provide any information about the Elusive People or Mystery Photos in this section I would be very grateful to hear from you!

The Surname Origins section provides information on the origins of more than ninety of the surnames to be found in the Willis Tree.
